Upon graduating, Dr. Tsang returned to his home town of Abbotsford to open his dental practice.
Dr. Tsang is Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), a designation shared by fewer than 50 dentists in all of Canada. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association, and the British Columbia Dental Association.
He is an avid believer in continuing his education and over a hundred hours of extra courses each year on top of being an active member in several study clubs. In 2011 he graduated from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry MaxiCourse, one of the most well respected and comprehensive, international training programs in implant dentistry.

Tazim [‘Taz’], C.D.A.
Stephanie joined the Smile Dental Implant Centre team in May 2014. She graduated from Vancouver Community College in 1989 as a Certified Dental Assistant. Her passion is to make a difference and change lives, beginning with her patient’s smile. She understands the importance of feeling and looking good inside and out, and she feels it all starts with a smile. She looks forward to the patient reaction when they get the chance to look in the mirror for the first time after the completion of their dental work.
Tazim has a wide range of experience in oral implantology. After graduating from Vancouver Community College in 1986 as a Certified Dental Assistant, Taz joined one of our MaxiCourse graduates, Dr. Trish Hunter, in her office and learned implant dentistry alongside Dr. Hunter, including Dr. Hunter’s MaxiCourse year in 2010/11. In September of 2013, Taz decided to join the UBC staff and is currently running the Grad Pediatric Program. She is still working in private practice on days off from UBC to continue enhancing clinical skills, as she truly enjoys assisting with implant dentistry. This includes working in a Prosthodontic office in Vancouver. In addition, Taz is proud of her volunteer work in dental clinics in Africa in 2011. She has been a member of our MaxiCourse team for two years and her familiarity with UBC continues to be a significant asset to us.
Sasha graduated from Vancouver Community College in 2000 as a Certified Dental Assistant and experienced her first introduction to implant dentistry at the office of Dr. William Liang, our program director, in 2004. She worked at Dr. Christian Len’s office, a GP practice with involvement in implant dentistry, from 2005 to 2008. Sasha graduated from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in early 2017 and continues to work with us as a CDA at the MaxiCourse. Her familiarity with our director’s approach to implant dentistry makes her an asset to our team, and her positivity and strong work ethic make her invaluable.
When Dr. William Liang began the Vancouver MaxiCourse in 2010 and developed the curriculum, our original CDA’s, Kyla and Varinder, were instrumental in developing a successful surgical component to our program. The systems in place at our office had to be tailored to a different working environment and prepared for any contingencies that arise in surgeries done by implant dental students. Our clinical sessions began at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene and are now exclusively run through the University of British Columbia’s Nobel BioCare Oral Health Centre on university campus. In 2014, Stephanie & Taz replaced Kyla and Varinder as our head CDA’s for the program.
